Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Medpi being held this year in Alicante?

Medpi Iberia is an international professional meeting point. The organisation is constantly looking for the best environments to celebrate this Show. Alicante is an ideal location for the optimisation of professional relations and can offer all participants the most wide range of hotel accommodation and leisure activities.

Will Medpi Iberia always have place at Alicante?

No. Medpi Iberia is an itinerant Show and will move following the interests of its participants.

Does the Organisation guarantee that I will be able to have interviews with the main Spanish and Portuguese Buying Responsible?

No. The Organisation assures you that these professionals will be attending the Show. The interviews have to be pre-confirmed by the Buyers before the opening of the Show.

What happens if the Buyers don't confirm the interviews requested by the Exhibitors?

In that case, the Exhibitor is free to contact them during the Show. These professionals will attend the Show for a minimum of 2 days or a maximum of 3. It is therefore quite easy to contact them. In order to help the Exhibitors in this task, the Organisation offers daily lunches and others to all participants.

Is the Buyer obliged to accomplish the pre-confirmed interviews?

Yes. The Buyers Participation Rules oblige the Buyers to accomplish all interviews requested and confirmed by them before the Show.

What is the total percentage of the invited Buyers finally attending the Show?

Past editions statistics confirm that over 90% of the invited Buyers finally accept the invitation and attend the Show.

Can Exhibitors invite their clients to attend the Show?

No. The Exhibitors have to inform the Organisation on what clients they would like to invite. The Organisation will closely study each case and will proceed to approve and/or decline the entrance to the Show.

Why is Medpi such a "closed" Meeting Place and does not accept the entrance of visitors?

Medpi Iberia is the annual Meeting Point for the IT Retail market. Constant business meetings are being held during the Show. Each Buyer and Exhibitor know, beforehand, with who and when those interviews are going to be held. This helps the participants to properly prepare their presentation. The presence of other visitors could interfere in these professional meetings and in the normal development of the Show.

Who decides who should be invited to the Show?

The Organisation has to take care of the high level and professionalism of the participants attending the Show. The Buyers selection is made taking into account the requests of the Exhibitors and the approval of the Medpi Iberia’s Executive Committee.

Can a professional visitor attend the Show without being invited?

All the access requests received are carefully studied. The Organisation approves an entrance only in case the activity of the visitor does not interfere and/or compete with the activity of the Exhibitors.

Who are the Medpi Iberia's potential invited Buyers?

All the invited Buyers should be professionals with multimedia, digital and telecom buying responsibilities within the Spanish and Portuguese retail, consumer distribution and SOHO market. The potential Buying Companies are those acting as "intermediates" between the manufacturer and/or distributor and the final end-user.

Who are Medpi Iberia's potential Exhibitors?

All those national and international manufacturers and distributors interested in the Distribution and SOHO market in the Iberian Peninsula. Medpi Iberia brings together the most important Interactive and TeleCom Products representatives.

How does the Organisation define the "Agenda Meetings"?

The Organisation maintains constant contact with the invited Buyers and the confirmed Exhibiting Companies. All participants receive constant updates regarding the Show. Three weeks before the opening of the Event, the Organisers ask all the participants for their final requests.

How are the interviews confirmed?

  • The coincidental meeting requests have top priority to be included in the Agenda. The Buyers have to select from the total Exhibitors List, 50% of their total possible meetings. The other 50% of their possible meetings, have to be chosen by the Buyers only from the list of Exhibitors who have requested them.
  • Once the agenda is ready and confirmed by the Buyers, no changes and/or cancellations will be allowed.
  • All the invited Buyers have enough free time to contact and visit non-confirmed Exhibitors or stands.
